TRUTH AND INCONSEQUENCE

True or False: I am a centaur

I know you well. In reply you'll give me three fingers, a snappy Boy Scout Pledge, and say, "Read between the lines". Then you'll top it with a resounding "False. To hell with your mythology!"

You have the propensity to change your mind upon the slightest explanation. You'll probably do now if I explain, "Listen, I'm part man and part horse's ass".

"You must be right. True, then...", you'll say, confidently

Each truth needs a little explanation.

Here's what I think: All truths are significant, most truths are uninteresting.

And so, for once, to make an entry a little interesting, let's play politics and ignore half the facts; I'll spice truth with a mixture of lies.

From Freude's blog, this one I copied, 5 truths and 5 lies about me, in confused order:

1. I am 40 years old.
2. I have a Ph.D. in Botany, with sub spec in plant parasitology.
3. I am a member of Sierra Club and The Nature Conservancy.
4. Emilio Jacinto was my great grand uncle.
5. Among the very few celebrities I am personally acquainted with are the writer Terry McMillan, ex-tennis superstar Gabriela Sabatini, and Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres.
6. I can't swim.
7. The newscaster Chichi Fajardo and activist Lisa Pulgado were my huge crushes in college.
8. I used to teach at a university in Taft Avenue.
9. s in cbs stands for solis.
10. The publisher Ernie Evora-Sioco was once my boss.
